Gorilla tours to Bwindi forest are in two categories. For a normal gorilla trek, you can choose any of the four sections, depending on the accommodation. For Gorilla habituation, it must be in the Rushaga sector, where there is a family under the habituation process.

Bwindi National Park is located in the Albertine Rift Valley region. This region serves as the western ridge separating the Congo Basin from the Nile Basin, leading to the formation of overlapping mountains in southwestern Uganda. The park is nestled within the rugged mountains of Kisoro, Kabale, and Kanungu. The difficult terrain requires a reliable 4×4 vehicle to access this national park. It is strongly advised to utilise a Land Cruiser with higher ground clearance for these trips.
For budget-friendly self-drive excursions to Bwindi National Park, a Toyota RAV4 can be a viable alternative, but this is only suitable during the dry months of July, August, and September. In terms of accommodations in Bwindi, some safari lodges provide budget rooms ranging from 70 to 100 dollars per night. Camping in Bwindi is not a typical way to spend the night because of the area’s cold temperatures. Bwindi is situated at an average elevation of 3000 meters above sea level.
